The objective is to consolidate the Dominican Republic as the main hub of the Caribbean

Frank Díaz, general director of Sky Cana, highlighted during a press conference held at the Annual Tourism Exchange of the Dominican Republic (DATE 2022), that he is a "proud Dominican businessman whose projects have had, have and will continue to operate based on the highest quality and standards of social benefits”.
Sky Cana has become an integral part of the Dominican tourism industry. In just two years of air operations, and with the aim of supporting the growth of the country's tourism industry, the company has increased its air and connectivity offer. The objective is to consolidate the Dominican Republic as the main hub in the Caribbean, due to the privileged geographical location of the country.
Sky Cana, the innovative Dominican airline, is currently making history by introducing new marketing paradigms and procedures. More importantly, it has introduced a new way of traveling to and from the Dominican Republic. This new trend is supported by a group of recognized professionals from all areas of the aeronautical industry, and is the only company with 100% Dominican capital investment. The new airline operates with planes that can carry more than 100 passengers.
The company currently operates in the charter market, operating three Airbus A321-200 aircraft and one A320. Each plane highlights some of the country's top tourist regions, sparking nationalist sentiments. One plane proudly carries a "Go Puerto Plata" sign, the others repeat the strategy brandishing signs that read "Go Samaná", "Go Punta Cana" and "Go Santo Domingo".
The airline has 840 seats available, which allows it to meet some of the immediate needs of the Dominican tourism sector. For the next winter season they hope to operate routes to South America. Currently, the company is negotiating the purchase of another vessel to establish this new route.

Frank Diaz, CEO of Sky Cana, exhibits achievements in DATE 2022,
During the last year, the company operated 650 flights, transporting 125,000 passengers and 5,200 tons of cargo. There are currently 175 direct employees working for the company, and some 600 indirect jobs have been created. All employees are Dominican.
It also has commercial agreements with Avion Express, which is the world's largest narrow-body ACME operator and the largest Lithuanian airline. Headquartered in Vilnius, Avion Express currently operates in Europe, the Caribbean, South America and the Asia-Pacific region.
Since its inception, the company has operated its international flights from Las Américas International Airport, located on the outskirts of Santo Domingo; Santiago – the second largest city in the country; from the international airports of La Romana and Punta Cana, in the eastern region; and the Gregorio Luperón Airport in the northern coastal city of Puerto Plata.
