Tianguis Turístico México opens the doors of a successful edition
It is estimated that more than 65,000 business appointments will be held, which represents a record in its history
On behalf of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, the Secretary of the Interior, Adán Augusto López Hernández, inaugurated the Tianguis Turístico México 2022, in Acapulco, Guerrero, where he stated that after the long night of COVID-19, the country is on its feet, “The tourism sector is a sign that Mexico is going to get ahead, there is a consolidated tourism sector. Today we are the second country in the world in terms of tourism, only surpassed by France”.
Together with the Secretary of Tourism (Sectur), Miguel Torruco Marqués, at the Forum Mundo Imperial convention complex, the head of the Interior said “we are here today to say that Mexico is great, great for its tourism, great for its inhabitants; It's great for all of you."
In the 46th edition of this event that brings together members of the national and international tourism industry, Secretary Adán Augusto López Hernández congratulated those who organize it and invited them to continue working together, "the federal, state, municipal authorities, the Entrepreneurs, we all have to continue building, as the slogan says: 'tourism is the future', but tourism is Mexico”.
El secretario de Turismo, Miguel Torruco Marqués, detalló que esta edición se tiene registro de mil 556 compradores provenientes de 937 empresas de 47 naciones, que en su conjunto representan 95 por ciento del total de los mercados emisores internacionales que visitan México. Se cuenta con mil 11 empresas expositoras, representadas por 2 mil 292 personas que atenderán a las y los visitantes de este evento. Además se dispuso de 600 suites de negocios en las que se encuentra la oferta turística del país.

"It is a stimulus - he emphasized - that commits to continue working to position and maintain this tourist festival as the most important in Latin America and one of the most outstanding in the world."
This tianguis is the most important annual tourist event in Mexico as it exposes the country's cultural, natural and gastronomic wealth to the world. This 2022 takes place from May 22 to 25.
For 46 years, it has been promoting Mexico as a tourist destination for its history, culture and natural beauty. It continues with its objective of being an international business forum in which the main suppliers and buyers within the Mexican tourism industry interact, in addition to carrying out different activities.
The academic program of the Tianguis Turístico includes lectures, and virtual and face-to-face seminars with nationally and internationally recognized experts in the field of tourism.
Both Secretaries of State, together with the Governor of Guerrero, Evelyn Salgado Pineda, presented awards to different personalities for their professionalism, dedication and commitment to national tourism.
The director general of the National Fund for the Promotion of Tourism, Javier May Rodríguez; the undersecretary of Quality and Regulation of the Sectur, Humberto Hernández-Haddad; and on behalf of the Secretary of National Defense (Sedena), Major General Celestino Ávila Astudillo, Commander of the Ninth Military Region, Diplomated General Staff.
The governors of Guanajuato attended, Diego Sinhue Rodríguez Vallejo; Hidalgo, Omar Fayad Meneses –who was part of the people recognized for his work in the field of Mexican tourism, particularly in his case for being a pioneer and promoter of the Tourist Tianguis of Magical Towns–; Michoacan, Alfredo Ramirez Bedolla; Morelos, Cuauhtemoc Blanco Bravo; Oaxaca, Alejandro Ismael Murat Hinojosa; Quintana Roo, Carlos Manuel Joaquin Gonzalez; Yucatan, Mauricio Villa Dosal; and Zacatecas, David Monreal Ávila, as well as the Secretary of Tourism of the state of Guerrero, Santos Ramírez Cuevas; and the municipal president of Acapulco, Abelina López Rodríguez.
Likewise, the president of the Confederation of National Chambers of Commerce, Services and Tourism (Concanaco-Servytur), Héctor Tejada Shaar; the president of the Association of Secretaries of Tourism of Mexico (Asetur), Juan Carlos Rivera Castellanos, among others.
