How did the property project come about?
The Residence Inn Panama City arose from the need for an accommodation option that would complement the modern and innovative Pacific Center project, which, thanks to its privileged location and the advantage of being able to integrate a hospital, commercial area, offices , cinema and cultural center, in turn, would be a great advantage for guests.

What distinguishing features does it have?
All of our spacious rooms feature a fully-equipped kitchen, a work area, complimentary American buffet breakfast, a 24-hour grocery store, communal laundry area, meeting rooms, a state-of-the-art fitness center, large swimming pool with barbecue and free Wi-Fi. We have an exclusive floor for guests with reduced mobility and we are a pet friendly hotel.

We seek to offer our guests the possibility of living experiences that everyone can make their own, thus reinforcing our brand promise.

What type of client is it aimed at?
Residence Inn Panama City is an extended stay hotel that welcomes business travelers as well as families looking to feel at home. We offer our guests open spaces to combine relaxation and comfort. 

What objectives have been proposed for the short and medium term?
Our short-term goal is to be recognized by our guests for the quality and level of service that we offer on each of their visits, thus increasing customer loyalty.  

In the medium term, continue to position the brand in the market and maintain a growth in satisfaction within the organization, both for customers and for associates and owners.

Which issuing markets are the most important?
Most of our market comes from the United States, Colombia, Costa Rica, Mexico, Argentina and Brazil.

In such a competitive market, how have you been working to distinguish yourself?
We focus on understanding that service is essential and attention, in addition to cordiality. Simple details make the difference. We pay special attention to members of our Marriott Bonvoy loyalty program, Marriott International's global program, where members have access to exclusive experiences at Marriott Bonvoy Moments and unparalleled benefits including free nights and Elite status recognition.

What kind of initiatives have you implemented to promote the property?
Our target market uses digital channels to make their lodging reservations, digital strategies are extremely important. Through Marriott International we participate in SEO positioning campaigns, B2B and B2C promotions, social networks and constant support from our local sales team serving Panamanian corporations and making international visits.

What is the vision of the hospitality market in Panama and tourism in the country in general? 
The "new normal" continues to consolidate and the hotel sector is constantly changing to adapt to the new needs of travelers; Therefore, the support of the Tourism Authority of Panama (ATP) is important in continuing to promote our country through the Tourism Promotion Fund (PROMTUR Panama) and working together with all the actors that promote and reinforce the tourist offer and business in our destination.

Panama has always had a leading role in the region as a business destination, and is targeting convention tourism with the opening in 2021 of the Amador Convention Center, in addition to reinforcing and improving its position as a destination for beaches and adventures.

The new cruise port and the expansion of flights and low-cost airlines should strengthen the strategy for the increase of tourists in the country.
