The airline has a daily frequency and offers more than 135 thousand annual seats for this service

Today, Viva Aerobus inaugurated its new route from Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA) to Cancún.

The first flight on this route took off from Cancun at 1:05 p.m. and landed in the country's capital at 3:25 p.m. with more than 150 passengers on board. Later, at 4:30 p.m., the flight departed from Mexico City (AIFA) to the Mexican Caribbean, with 175 passengers, which will arrive at its destination around 6:55 p.m.

AIFA – Cancún offers one daily flight and allows passengers to fly in the most modern fleet in Mexico and the third youngest in all of North America, with an average age of just 5 years.

“Since we made the decision to develop this new world-class airport, for the benefit of passengers in the Metropolitan Area of the Valley of Mexico, we have seen the interest of Viva Aerobus in working as a team with us and thus strengthening the connectivity of the region. We wish them the best of success in this service, their third route already in operation from the AIFA”, said General Isidoro Pastor, General Director of the Felipe Ángeles International Airport.

Viva Aerobus has already inaugurated three routes to/from the AIFA with destination to Monterrey, Guadalajara and, now, Cancun. Soon, in September, the airline will also start operations from said airport to Acapulco, Puerto Escondido and Oaxaca.

“This new air route from the Felipe Ángeles International Airport to Cancun allows to reinforce the tourist economy of Quintana Roo while promoting the future growth of air traffic in the Valley of Mexico. The Mexican Caribbean is ready to receive this new route on a daily basis, once again positioning the destination as one of the states with the greatest connectivity in Mexico,” said Bernardo Cueto, Secretary of Tourism of Quintana Roo.

During this year, Viva Aerobus has increased its presence in Quintana Roo with the inauguration of the Cozumel – Monterrey route; the next restart of Cancun – Toluca flights and has increased frequencies on seven routes to/from Cancun.

As a result, Viva has one of the widest offers in the state, with 28 routes flying from Cancun, Chetumal and Cozumel.

“We applaud the long-term commitment of Viva Aerobus with the air connectivity of a tourist enclave as important for Mexico as Cancun is. With this other route that connects Cancun with Mexico City, a bridge is being built that will make our beaches available to even more people. Without a doubt, this is great news for tourism and for the economic development of the region,” said Darío Flota Ocampo, General Director of the Quintana Roo Tourism Promotion Council.

Viva Aerobus reminds that, for the convenience of travelers, it offers the 'Viva Bus', an exclusive service for its passengers that takes them from the AIFA to the Central Bus Terminal of the North of Mexico City or vice versa.

“We continue working so that more people can fly safely, reliably, on modern planes and at low prices from a greater variety of destinations, thus being able to satisfy the needs and preferences of all types of travelers. Both the Mexican Caribbean and the Valley of Mexico are key regions within the national air market and with this new route we diversify the flight options for the comfort of passengers”, said Juan Carlos Zuazua, General Director of Viva Aerobus.
