The ICCA Summit Chile closed its doors yesterday making clear the potential of the country and the importance of the segment in the recovery of the sector

The ICCA Summit Chile was held over two days (July 18 and 19) and was held at the Metropolitan Santiago.

The new edition has been an exclusive meeting whose objective has been to make visible, strengthen and promote the local ecosystem of meetings and events. The meeting has allowed suppliers to learn about the objectives of clients and commercial cultures, how to negotiate, and how to take advantage of opportunities to establish more solid and productive commercial relationships.

Various work meetings were held and Chile has been highlighted as an international MICE destination.

The Undersecretary of Tourism Veronica Kunze participated in the opening day of the event aimed at the entire value chain of meeting tourism. The official highlighted that in 2019 there were 500 thousand tourists for this concept, who left more than 18% of the foreign exchange left by tourists who arrive in Chile.

In the last 10 years, Chile, and Santiago in particular, have invested substantially in their offer to host international congresses and events, ranking number 4 as a country, and 3 at the city level in the ICCA ranking of Latin America and the Caribbean.

The National Director of Sernatur, Beatriz Román, participated in a speech where she addressed the main post-pandemic trends in the MICE segment and the importance of the segment.
