As part of the work for the organization of the Tianguis Turístico México 2023, the Secretary of Tourism of the Government of Mexico, Miguel Torruco Marqués, and the Secretary of Tourism of Mexico City, Nathalie Desplas Puel, made an inspection visit to the Center Citibanamex, venue that will host the event from March 26 to 29 next year in the country's capital.

The head of the Ministry of Tourism (Sectur) stressed that the 47th edition of the most important tourism fair in Latin America will mark a milestone in history as it is the first time it is held in Mexico City, which far exceeds the needs that requires an event of this relevance.

He stressed that, during the Tianguis Turístico México 2023 in CDMX, the attendance of 15,000 people, the participation of 100 nations, around 3,000 buyers and the realization of 80,000 business appointments is estimated.

Torruco Marqués specified that for those days, an economic spill of the order of one thousand 740 million pesos is expected, exceeding all the marks established in the 46 previous editions.

The authorities toured the spaces of the enclosure, with more than 35 thousand square meters, for the realization of the Tourist Tianguis.

In addition, fundamental issues such as access, connectivity and schedules were discussed at the meeting; as well as the installation of the Mayan World Pavilion, which for the first time will accommodate the promotion of this integrated multi-destination, with the participation of the five countries of this region; the presence of the National Fund for the Promotion of Tourism (Fonatur), with the Mayan Train stand; and the importance of gastronomy and traditions of our country was addressed.

For this purpose, the different pavilions, halls and areas destined for each of the cultural, artistic and gastronomic exhibitions were toured, which complement the exhibition area and the meeting rooms where the business appointments and the academic program will take place. .

"The Tourist Tianguis held in Mérida catapulted the destination and served as the basis for receiving new investments, placing it today among the four destinations with the most national and international investment," said Torruco Marqués.

For her part, the Secretary of Tourism of CDMX, Nathalie Desplas Puel, spoke of the great stage and the great opportunity that this event represents, which will be historic, as it will mark a before and after in the most important Tourism Fair in the country.

He assured that this event will far exceed expectations in terms of the number of buyers and business appointments, setting a significant precedent for tourism in Mexico.

Those attending this tour agreed that the next Tianguis Turístico will continue to be inclusive, by having accesses and facilities that will facilitate the flow for people with disabilities.

Also present on the tour were the Undersecretary of Tourism, Humberto Hernández Haddad; the general coordinator of Advisors and International Affairs of the CDMX Government, Diana Alarcón González; on behalf of CREA, its general director Eduardo Martínez Garza; the deputy director of International Fairs of CIE, Rodrigo Hurtado Escalante; among other authorities of Sectur and Mexico City.
