Volaris reports traffic results for July
Laerolínea achieved a growth in demand of 22% with an occupancy factor of 85%
Controladora Vuela Compañía de Aviación, SAB de CV (NYSE: VLRS and BMV: VOLAR) (“Volaris” or “the Company”), the ultra-low-cost airline operating in Mexico, the United States of America, Central and South America, reports its preliminary traffic results for July 2022.
In July 2022, Volaris capacity (measured in ASMs) increased 28.8% compared to July 2021, while demand (measured in RPMs) increased 21.9% compared to the same period of the previous year; load factor stood at 84.7% (-4.8 pp YoY). During the month, Volaris transported 2.8 million passengers, which represents an increase of 22.2% compared to July 2021. In addition, the passenger demand (RPMs) of Volaris in the domestic and international market had an increase of 22.8% and 19.6%, respectively, compared to July 2021. Year-to-date, demand (measured in RPMs) increased 32.2% YoY, with load factor increasing 0.1 pp to 84.1%.
Commenting on July traffic figures, Volaris CEO and CEO Enrique Beltranena said: “We remain disciplined in adding capacity to meet passenger demand. The Company continues to adapt its network to optimize growth in an environment of high fuel prices and reallocate capacity, as appropriate, to more profitable routes."
