Volaris reports traffic results for August 2022
The airline carried 2.7 million passengers, which represents an increase of 20.1% compared to August 2021
Controller Vuela Compañía de Aviación, SAB de CV (NYSE: VLRS and BMV: VOLAR) (“Volaris” or “the Company”), the ultra-low-cost airline operating in Mexico, the United States of America, Central and South America, reports its Preliminary traffic results for August 2022.
In August 2022, Volaris capacity (measured in ASMs) increased 19.8% year over year, while demand (measured in RPMs) increased 20.0%; the load factor result was 84.9% (+0.1 pp). During the month, Volaris transported 2.7 million passengers, an increase of 20.1% compared to the same month of 2021. Demand in the Mexican domestic and international markets increased by 18.7% and 23.4%, respectively. So far this year, demand increased 30.7% y/y, increasing the load factor 0.5 pp year-on-year, standing at 84.6%.
Commenting on the August 2022 traffic figures, Volaris CEO and CEO Enrique Beltranena said: “Demand was strong in all of our markets, and we have been able to maintain strong load factors while expanding our network. of routes. We continue with our flexible route network strategy and will continue to stimulate our markets with low fares and adding new capacity based on market demand."
