During the conference, the Secretary of the Presidency indicated that the tourism sector was one of the most affected by the pandemic in Uruguay, but thanks to the compensatory measures, today the country can look forward.

In the presence of authorities and operators from the tourism sector, Delgado stressed that the Government is present at Expo Prado 2022, as a gesture of gratitude to the citizens. He appreciated that thanks to everyone it was possible to overcome the pandemic with protocols, and that today Uruguay is a pioneer in the world thanks to "responsible freedom".

"There is a government that is putting tourism at the top of the national agenda," he added.

For his part, Minister Tabaré Viera recalled that in Uruguay there are tourist offers that include variety, such as the consolidated destination of sun and beach, thermal, rural and natural, mining and astronomical.

The hierarch added that the crisis generated by the COVID-19 pandemic provided opportunities for internal activity and its development, and that the challenge will be to sustain them.

The launch of Tourism for All, as a social tourism policy, is an example by which the beneficiaries of the Social Welfare Bank who receive less than 30,000 pesos can access services with subsidies, he specified.

Ministers, Mayors, Directors of Tourism, Ambassadors, as well as the president of the Uruguayan Chamber of Tourism, Marina Cantera, along with other directors and private operators, were present at the opening ceremony.

The closing was in charge of Enzo Castro, the 8-year-old boy who won the Got Talent 2021 and came from Rivera with his accordion to delight those present.
