Marqués highlighted there the importance of promoting and investing in tourism as a trigger for the diversification of tourism activity and the generation of jobs linked to the industry. He also argued that inter-institutional work is key to promoting the sector and contributing to development and economic benefits, which in turn ends up impacting the benefit of the communities.

During the meeting, the participants proposed promoting investment in the CIP Integrally Planned Centers with responsible management, in order to achieve a balance between tourist activity and care for the environment and put an end to tourist paradises with marginalized belts.

In this sense, the strategy to detonate the activity in Playa Espiritu, in the state of Sinaloa, stands out, which, through National Lottery draws, has raffled lots in this CIP, with the purpose of favoring its development and, at the same time, , contribute to the welfare of the population of the surrounding towns.

Torruco Marqués indicated that through programs such as Operación Toca Puertas, not only the arrival of international tourists to Mexico is promoted, but also air connectivity and investment, by holding meetings with the leaders of the sector in the main issuing markets to Mexico.

He pointed out that, in these work tours, state Tourism secretaries and the presidents of the main chambers and associations of the sector attend, who hold meetings in which important agreements are reached on the matter.
