Exploring rural Panama with emerging community tourism experiences
Launching in August 2022, Panama's community tourism network, SOSTUR, is a digital platform for rural communities and tourism businesses to share their vision and support the implementation of regenerative tourism . Travelers planning a visit for 2023 can select tours in 10 pilot communities with experiences that support Panama's vast culture and biodiversity. From farm tours focused on agritourism, hiking through the destination's sprawling national parks, bird watching and turtle nesting, SOSTUR connects travelers with immersive experiences that support local communities.

New Hotels in Historic and Charming Casco Antiguo
Casco Antiguo, Panama City's historic district, is a must-see when in the destination. With cobblestone streets, historical monuments, churches and panoramic views of the Bay of Panama, the area has some of the best hotels and restaurants in the city. As a Creative City according to UNESCO in terms of gastronomy, Panama City is home to a vibrant and diverse gastronomic scene, led by world-class chefs. Travelers looking to stay in the heart of this district can choose from several luxury and boutique hotels, including newcomers La Compañía and Sofitel Legend.

Sofitel Legend, the modern French luxury brand with iconic hotels around the world, will introduce its first hotel in North and Central America, bringing its quintessential art de vivre to the historic city of Casco Antiguo. Built directly on the water, with breathtaking, unobstructed views of the Pacific Ocean and the Panama City skyline, the hotel will feature a superior mix of facilities and services. (Opening Fall 2022)
