The MCO began this week air operations in the new space

The Airport welcomed the first service from the new Terminal C, with the arrival of an Aer Lingus flight from Manchester, England. The project that took almost 3 billion dollars and almost 5 years of construction has 15 additional doors to improve passenger capacity.

“This state-of-the-art terminal points the way to a truly intermodal future for all of Central Florida, where passengers will be able to catch a plane, train or car from one location. Today, the vision has become a reality," said Kevin Thibault, Executive Director of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority.

The new facilities feature upgrades to streamline quality controls, with new automated control lanes and radio frequency identification technology. In addition, they have an Early Bag Store robotic system with a capacity for 1,800 bags; virtual ramp control system for airline aircraft operations and large-scale interactive digital media displays with immersive high-definition experiences.

The Terminal also has the capacity to accommodate up to 20 aircraft and is designed as the world's first LEEDv4 airport campus. It should be noted that it was built with a multimodal vision that allows bus services, air connections and also the railway to be fully integrated, which includes a station dedicated to the future train project that will connect Orlando-Miami.

Currently, airlines serving Terminal C include Aer Lingus, Azul, British Airways, Caribbean Airlines, Emirates, GOL, Islandair, Lufthansa, Norse, and the main carrier is JetBlue.

The inaugural ribbon cutting of the new space was carried out with the company of members of Walt Disney World, a firm that also opened its own store with a large number of objects and souvenirs.
