During the three days of the fair, the delegation holds important meetings with European tourism suppliers and buyers


Embratur and its 35 co-exhibitors began this Monday (11/07) their participation in the World Travel Market (WTM), a world travel and tourism event that takes place in London, England, until today Wednesday (09/11). It is one of the world's largest fairs in the sector where the biggest names in the tourism industry can connect and interact to find new ways to grow and develop their businesses.

According to the organization of the WTM, there are more than 3,000 exhibitors from 100 different countries, which together make up thousands of professionals linked to tourism. “WTM is one of the main events on the sector's fair calendar, because it offers excellent business opportunities. Embratur will reinforce the promotion of the ecotourism and adventure and culture segments, since they are the most offered in the United Kingdom, in addition to sun and beach, which appears on trips during the breaks between trips”, says the president of Embratur, Silvio Birth.

Market profile studies indicate the interest of the British consumer in authentic experiences, in which the tourist perceives benefits when choosing a certain destination. In this sense, Embratur intends to highlight the possibility of customizing itineraries, with opportunities for local interaction. It is worth mentioning that the United Kingdom was the ninth issuer of tourists to Brazil in 2020 (48,595 tourists) with an average expenditure of US$110.33 (business) and US$63.87 (leisure). According to the Ministry of Tourism (2019), the motivation of 43.9% of British people who visit Brazil is culture and 28.2% sun and beach.

During the three days of the fair, the Embratur delegation holds important meetings with European tourism suppliers and buyers, will give interviews to the local press to explain the Agency's actions in promoting Brazil, in addition to presenting to the final public, the tourist, a bit of the characteristics of the Brazilian people, with live music and contact with gastronomy.

Embratur in Europe
In addition to its presence at the fair, Embratur has already promoted Brazilian destinations and products in Europe in 2022 with other actions. In September, the Agency carried out a series of roadshows that passed through Paris, Frankfurt, Madrid, Lisbon and London. The following month, it brought tour operators from Italy to Brazil to live experiences in Rio de Janeiro and the state's Costa Verde, with the right to business roundtables with local businesses.

Now, in November, Embratur also started the advertising campaign in Europe, showing that Brazil is much more than what Europeans imagine. The objective is to diversify the options for foreign travelers, showing options for sun and beach destinations, nature, culture, among others.
