ANATO: passenger traffic continues to grow in international flights

According to calculations by ANATO, or the average cost of international air passages, this year, there was an increase of 57%. However, despite the scenario, the movement of passengers in international flights maintains growth, even exceeding pre-pandemic values.
Based on the numbers from Civil Aeronautics, ANATO calculates that, between January and September, the movement of passengers in international flights was 11 thousand, or that it represented a growth of 3%, in relation to the same period of 2019. or higher number of passengers (1.4 million).
“The exhibition shows that, despite the difficulties, the sector remains resilient and continues to grow. It is that tourism, as the work of all its actors in the National Government, has been ratified for the past two years as its force and its will to advance by implementing strategies for the promotion and connectivity of the country with other destinations”, he affirmed. explained Paula Cortés Calle, executive president of ANATO.
It should be noted that the participation of Colombian businessmen in the most important fairs in the world has also been essential for the dissemination of the tourist offer in different segments of the country, stimulating the arrival of foreign visitors to the country.
“No, however, we see the results of 2023 with concern in the context of inflation, high devaluation and legal taxes, because we believe that this can discourage the consumption of tourist products and services in Colombian families”, said the union leader.
