Viva Airbus inaugurated the Toluca - Puerto Vallarta route

This new route is operated every day with Airbus aircraft that make up the youngest fleet in Mexico

Today, Luis Villaseñor, Director of the Public Trust for the Promotion and Tourist Advertising of the Municipality of Puerto Vallarta; Hugo Alberto Delgado Ortega, General Director of the Toluca International Airport (AIT); Cryshtian Amador Lizardi, Director of the Puerto Vallarta Airport, and directors of Viva Aerobus, celebrated the start of the new route from Toluca to Puerto Vallarta, which has a daily flight.
Moments before takeoff at 10:40 am, to say goodbye to the inaugural flight VB 9144, the aircraft received the traditional baptism at the Toluca International Airport (AIT). Later, the aircraft landed at 12:10 in Puerto Vallarta, where the ribbon cutting was held to celebrate the beginning of this new route.

“We celebrate that Viva Aerobus continues to grow from the Toluca Airport, where we have a modern infrastructure and a warm service to serve more and more passengers. Thus, by working together, airport and airline, we strengthen the tourism and commercial sector of our state and, consequently, regional development is promoted”, said Hugo Alberto Delgado Ortega, General Director of the AIT.

Viva Aerobus recalls that, currently, it already has four routes to/from the Mexican capital destined for Cancun, Mérida, Monterrey and, now, Puerto Vallarta. As a result, the airline will be operating more than 2,800 flights a year to/from Toluca, adding more than half a million seats available to travelers annually.

Tourism is strengthened in Jalisco
Luis Villaseñor, Director of the Puerto Vallarta Trust explained that "this year tourism in Puerto Vallarta is heading to exceed pre-pandemic levels and the inauguration of this new Viva Aerobus route comes to facilitate and boost the number of visitors that Puerto Vallarta will receive. Vallarta, especially now that the winter vacation season is approaching. We thank Viva for the trust placed in our city, becoming a natural ally of our connectivity and growth”.

For his part, Cryshtian Amador Lizardi, Director of the Puerto Vallarta International Airport, mentioned that with this new route Viva continues to consolidate itself as a key player both for the recovery and for the growth of the entity's air traffic. "We will be happy to receive more passengers by providing the best travel experience from our airport, the entrance to one of the most emblematic beaches in Mexico," he added.

In Puerto Vallarta, the low-cost airline offers six routes to Ciudad Juárez, Guadalajara, Mexico City, Monterrey, Tijuana and Toluca, linking key cities with one of the country's favorite sun and beach destinations. To this are added another 22 services that Viva Aerobus provides in Jalisco, from Guadalajara, one of its six operating bases. Thus, being one of the airlines with one of the largest offers in this state, Viva maintains positive growth trends in the entity. In this sense, the number of passengers on its routes to/from Puerto Vallarta and Guadalajara increased by 53% when comparing January – September 2022 vs the same period in 2021.

“Now, for the comfort of all travelers in the Metropolitan Area of ​​the Valley of Mexico, they can now choose whether to fly, non-stop, to Puerto Vallarta from the AIT or the AICM; that yes, always in new planes and at low prices so that they can get the most out of any trip, whether for pleasure or business”, said Walfred Castro Novelo, Communications Director of Viva Aerobus.
