For the fourteenth time, the Caribbean destination received the important recognition

For the 14th time, and the fifth consecutive year since 2018, Saint Lucia boasts its prominence as the 'World's Leading Honeymoon Destination' after once again receiving the coveted title at the 29th annual the World Travel Awards (WTA). on November 11, 2022.

St. Lucia's unrivaled offerings of romance have set it above other contenders for honeymoon hot spots around the world, including Cartagena de Indias; Jamaica; Jordan; The Maldives; Maui, Hawaii, Mauritius; Oman; Paris, France and Seychelles.

The World Travel Awards are the most prestigious and sought after awards program in the global travel and tourism industry since 1993. They were established to recognise, reward and celebrate excellence in all sectors of the tourism industry, marking 2022 as the 29th. th anniversary of the World Travel Awards program.

Receiving the award was Thaddeus M. Antoine, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority. “It is an honor for Saint Lucia to receive this prestigious award once again. We are constantly reinventing our strategy and positioning our honeymoon and romance offerings globally. Just a few weeks ago, we successfully hosted the Global Romance Summit, welcoming elite travel experts to immerse themselves in the destination. Saint Lucia is full of warm and friendly people, and we dedicate this award to their success, our authentic culture, and diverse community experiences,” he remarked.

Destination partner, Ladera Resort retained the title of World's Leading Wedding Venue, having won the title back-to-back since 2018.

Saint Lucia was recognized earlier this year by the WTA as the Caribbean's top honeymoon and adventure tourism destination. The Travvy Awards also recognized Saint Lucia as the Best Honeymoon Destination in the Caribbean. It also won silver for Best Overall Destination in the Caribbean, Bermuda and the Bahamas at Recommend's 2022 Readers' Choice Awards.
