Huinid opens a new hotel in Buenos Aires
Huinid Obelisco opened its doors, an 84-room property located just 500 meters from the icon of the Argentine capital
On January 15, Huinid Obelisco opened its doors, a property where quality is combined with the trajectory to offer a first level experience.
The Roccatagliata family, owners of the hotel, have extensive experience in hospitality since two decades ago they led the offer in Bariloche.
The project began a long time ago, in 2014 to be exact. Pablo Roccatagliata explained that "unlike what generally happens, when hotel chains disembark in Bariloche, we did the opposite and we decided to diversify the offer in the capital."
Thus, after more than six years of hard work, they inaugurated Huinid Obelisco on January 15. The place has 84 rooms and although in principle only the lobby bar is available, in March it will open a restaurant with a marked Patagonian imprint.
The aim of the Roccatagliata family, owners of the hotel, is precisely to print the essence of Patagonia, both in its cuisine, as in the decoration lines, among other things. It also has a solarium with full gym, whirlpools and Scottish shower. Huinid Obelisco is positioned as a superior three star hotel.
“The restaurant is going to be called Patagonian Roots and we want to work the menu with that identity. We will have products from the south and everything will be commanded by the chef of Villa Huinid, Alejandro Clausen, ”explained Roccatagliata.
Huinid Obelisco is located in the San Nicolás neighborhood of Buenos Aires, five blocks away from the capital of which it bears the name and a block and a half from Corrientes Avenue, precisely in Sarmiento 1431.
The building where it works dates from 1875 and was a naval warehouse. "Being a historical construction, we had to preserve many building things, that's why it demanded so much work," Roccatagliata said.
The work involved parts in the historical part where some rooms are located and also, they built a 9-story tower, “the maximum stipulated height for the area,” according to the man.
“The response of the people has been very good, considering that in Buenos Aires it is low season and that it is a totally new hotel,” he said. The night of its opening, Huinid Obelisco had 60 guests and the number was maintained during the first week.
In the new hotel establishment 30 people work, a number that will increase as there is more demand for guests. "We are very happy because despite starting recently, we already have comments on search engines for accommodation such as Booking, Trivago, Despegar and TripAdvisor," Roccatagliatta remarked proudly.
Huinid Hotels in Bariloche is widely recognized not only for its quality in hotel and cabins, but also for the first class cuisine and spa open to guests and residents of the city.
In that sense, Roccatagliata reported that the second guest they had was from Cipolletti and recognized them for having already stayed in Bariloche. "Our project is that the hotel be the embassy of Río Negro in the capital," he emphasized and for this "we will work with producers from Bariloche and the area, we want to contact wineries in the Valley, another goal is for a local artisanal ice cream producer provide us there. We want it to be the identity of the hotel. ”
Huinid Obelisco's rates are more than tempting, and this is also part of being new to the Buenos Aires market. "Prices may not reflect the quality of the product, but it is the way that people know us in Buenos Aires, where the competition is much bigger," he said.
Thus, Huinid opened the doors of the first hotel of the firm outside Bariloche and retains its family spirit. With Patagonian identity, a characteristic and prominent name in the area and excellence in care, it is coming as one of the hotel promises of Buenos Aires.
