Inguat delivers tourist biosecurity stamp in Petén

The badge was awarded to service providers in the tourism value chain who applied for this procedure in the Aventura region in the Mayan World


Sixteen service providers were awarded the Tourism Biosafety Seal of the Guatemalan Tourism Institute (INGUAT), which is delivered to those interested in the tourism value chain who are willing to satisfy the established processes and express their commitment to comply with the Good Practice Guidelines for the prevention of COVID-19 and other infections.

The Director General of INGUAT, Mynor Cordón, said “It is important that all service providers join these actions of responsibility that allow us to provide safe travel experiences to tourists and also to their collaborators. Through this seal, it is supported and validated at a national and international level, that service providers in the tourism industry are interested in and implement good biosafety practices ”.

INGUAT authorities delivered the seal to those who have complied with the process to obtain it in the department of Petén, being the following:

The Biosafety Seal was recently delivered to 28 companies in Sacatepéquez, previously it was done in Sololá, Quetzaltenango and Guatemala City. More than a hundred companies have complied with the procedure for the Tourist Biosafety Seal.

It is important to note that in addition to the national seal, companies are also eligible for the Safe Travels Seal granted by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) for its acronym in English, for which INGUAT is empowered to deliver it.
