Paraguay opens its commercial aviation after 7 months


In an official act, with the presence of the President of the Republic, Mario Abdo Benitez, the Silvio Pettirossi International Airport was reopened
The event was also attended by the Minister of Tourism, Sofía Montiel de Afara; the president of the National Directorate of Civil Aeronautics, Félix Kanasawa; the Minister of Health, Julio Mazzoleni; the Minister of the Interior, Euclides Acevedo; the Defense Minister, Bernardino Soto Estigarribia, and national authorities.
The Minister of Tourism, highlighted the joint work of several months that the institutions involved have had to reach this reopening, with the hope of reactivating the air sector and inbound tourism.
The official has also reaffirmed the international achievement that the country has had, receiving the Safe Travels seal that certifies compliance with the safety and health protocols necessary to receive international tourists in a responsible manner.
Among the building improvements and verification of airport equipment are, the panoramic elevator, expansion of the check in area to Covid mode with state-of-the-art technology, new offices for airlines, luggage conveyor belts, 360 body scanner, double-view luggage scanner, trasa de explosives and other improvements designed for the comfort and safety of passengers.
